Results from some of our personal injury cases:
A client on a snowmobile trip in Eastern Oregon takes a jump he had hit earlier in the day. Once in the air, the client sees a parked snowmobile in his landing zone; at this point there is nothing he can do and as a result of someone else’s unattended snowmobile, he crashes into the parked machine and sustains significant brain injuries, disallowing him from his former work as a surgeon. We take on the case, and with our help, it settles for $2,400,000, the maximum amount of combined insurance available.
MOTOR VEHICLE WATER TRUCK ACCIDENT:
A client and his son stop on Highway 97, in preparation to make a left-hand turn, when a commercial tanker hits them from behind, forcing their car into an oncoming truck. Both passengers sustain major injuries that require multiple surgeries; however, liability is denied and there is no offer. After extensive litigation and hard work in mediation, we settle for $2,000,000.
As a result of a severe head-on collision, a client is left trapped in his work truck until help arrives and he is extricated, transported from the scene by helicopter, and taken to the emergency room where he undergoes surgery and accrues medical bills upwards of $100,000. The injuries sustained from the accident render him incapable of performing his job for a year; however, with the expertise of Dwyer Williams Potter, the case settles for $640,000 during an informal mediation with the insurance company.
MOTOR VEHICLE SEMI TRUCK ACCIDENT:
A semi-truck driver is speeding and loses control around a corner. He collides head-on into a client, killing her, and we help to settle for statutory wrongful death at the maximum of $500,000.
MOTOR VEHICLE BICYCLE ACCIDENT:
A client is riding his bicycle when an uninsured driver runs him down from behind at highway speed, causing the client major injuries. The client is dropped by another law firm because they feel a win for the case is unobtainable. Liability is denied, but $130,000 is offered; we take on, win the case, and conclude with the arbitrator awarding a sum of $464,000.
MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT HEAD ON COLLISON:
A client’s vehicle is hit head-on by an uninsured motorist and the client suffers herniated discs in his lumbar spine, requiring multiple surgeries. Despite numerous promising statements, no settlement offers are made by the insurance company; however, after extensive litigation with Dwyer Williams Potter, our client is awarded over $400,000.
